The ILCU have been informed that there's currently an email phishing scam targeting credit union members throughout the country. Members who have been targeted will receive an email from the email address creditunion@online.ie or one similar to this. The email will inform the member of a file named "Payment Confirmation" that's been transferred to them through a site called WeTransfer, by what appears to be your Credit Union, and will be encouraged to click to download the files. Ballaghaderreen Credit Unions are inviting local people to consider their Christmas budgets now and start some early savings to ensure they are not hit with big bills in 2016. Families in the local Ballaghaderreen community are being advised to start putting aside small amounts of cash on a regular basis to meet the festive bills in December and January. Ballaghaderreen and District Credit Union Limited has announced the launch of a new car insurance product via coveru.ie. Coveru.ie is a website based product that offers members greater accessibility, good value and most importantly excellent insurance cover.
